The artisan toasted sandwich – a triumph of flavour with Annabelle White

Mistress of the grill, Annabelle White absolutely loves a good toasted sandwich. Check out her tips for a delicious home-made artisan toastie, transforming that humble toasted sandwich into something a little bit more. Made using cold colds cuts from the fridge, left over sauces (cheese / mushroom sauce) and of course, cheese and McClure’s Pickles for texture, piquancy and vibrancy.

Toastie Tip 1: Butter both sides of the bread with a mixture comprising of equal quantities of butter, mayo and grated parmesan cheese. Cook the toastie for just that little bit longer to ensure the cheese is melted and the bread is crunchy. The parmesan and mayo butter will make the outside of the toastie extra crispy!
